Events in Hawaii – Maui this week!

With so many events in Hawaii, we like to try to provide you with a few highlights you might not want to miss.  This month was Chinese New Year as well Valentines Day so there’s been plenty of local activity. Coming to the end of February, here are the highlights for the rest of the month that you may not want to miss out on!

Events in HawaiiThis Friday’s Maui Town Party – Kihei Fourth Fridays will be this Friday from 6-9pm at the Azeka  Shopping Center in Kihei! Live bands include GOMEGA, Bad Kitty and the Lion Dance too celebrate Chinese New Year! More than 80 vendors will be out there sharing the aloha! The Keiki Zone will have a Chinese New Year Costume Contest and plenty of free activities. Stella Blues and Diamonds will have additional entertainment! We’ll be out there photographing the event, so find us and say hi so we can get your picture in for this month!

Let’s not forget that the Maui Pride is hosting a Whaleabration Cruise this Saturday, February 23 from 3-5:30! At last count there were only 9 tickets left so if you’re interested in this special event, you need to go to the Maui Pride Website and get your tickets! We hope to see you out there (and plenty of whales too!)

Events in MauiIf you’re unable to make the whale cruise but want to help participate in Maui’s whale adventures – please contact  Betsy at the Pacific Whale Foundation (betsydavidson@pacificwhale.org). She is in charge of gathering as many individuals as she can to help in the Great Humpback Whale Count from the shores of Maui – help out as you spend a beautiful day on the beach!

Saturday night, the Hui is having their signature fundraising event at the Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center – “The Art Affair”. Support the local art community, enjoy live music, dancing, gourmet dinner and open bar. How can you go wrong? Go to their website for tickets and more information.

On Sunday, February 23, don’t miss the Ka Lima O Maui Golf Tournament at one of our favorite local courses – Elleair Golf Course. Raising money for charity and playing golf? What a great combination! Go here for more details and sign up! Play starts at 7:30am!

For those concert goers – don’t miss SANTANA – playing February 28th at 7:30pm at the MACC. Tickets range from $65-$129.

Events in Hawaii – Maui This Week!

There are some wonderful events in Hawaii happening in the next week -check these Maui events out!

Maui Whale DayIf you haven’t heard already – tomorrow, Saturday February 16th,  is MAUI WHALE DAY! The kickoff parade will begin at 9am on South Kihei Rd near Kamaole 2 Park and will run North.  Grab your bicycles or tennis shoes and go green to the event! The main party will be held at Kalama Park starting at 10am. Parking will be a zoo so the more that can carpool or come by alternate means, the better. There will be rows and rows of vendors and hours of entertainment including Erin Smith and the Throwdowns on the mainstage. Bring a chair and enjoy people watching – there’ll be thousands to choose from!

This Sunday, NOAA will be hosting a number of activities and events this weekend including the movie “Undersea Discoveries” from 7:30pm to 9:00pm at Whaler’s Village. This is an excellent opportunity to share the underwater adventure with your children – as a local or visitor! A great way to explore the deep without ever getting wet (ok, unless it rains… )

Tuesday, February 19th is free movie night at the Kihei Public Library. This week they’re showing MOONSTRUCK from 6-7:45. Bring the family and enjoy this free event!

February 22 – Friday – mark your calendars – Kihei Fourth Friday is where you want to be! Performances by GOMEGA and Bad Kitty with a special performance of the Lion Dance to celebrate the Chinese New Year! There will be a costume contest for the kids in the Keiki Zone so dress them up cute! With more than 25 food vendors, 60 merchandise and services booths and a huge Keiki Zone, you won’t be bored! New vendors rotate in frequently to keep everyone entertained! Come check it out – 6-9 pm!
