April 20th has a few things going on you may have trouble deciding which to do. Here’s the “what to in Hawaii” options for Maui…
Saturday, April 20, 2013, 9:00am – 4:30pm
Haiku Ho`olaulea & Flower Festival, Celebrating their 20th Anniversary
taking place at the Haiku Community Center & Grounds, and Haiku Elementary School Grounds
We’ll be out there photographing the beautiful flowers and exciting event. I understand there will be live performances by local artists and plenty of pupu choices.
Check out their website for more information here.
Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21 ALL DAY

They are in need of event volunteers so if you can spare a couple hours, please go to their website and sign up here!
Saturday, April 20, 9:00pm
The Maui Pride will be hosting their 321 Karaoke that night at Moose McGillycuddy’s in South Kihei. Come sing along or join in for the laughs. $1 buys you a song, $2 buys a song from someone else and $3 buys your way out of a song! Or if you just want to laugh and cheer everyone else on, buy a $20 “Safety Lei” and skate through the night unhampered by song requests! All funds go to Maui Pride and the Maui Pride Scholarship Fund!
Sunday, April 21 7:00-9:30pm
Don’t miss the Starry Night Cinema hosted at the MACC – they’ll be showing The Lorax with casual dining and Earth Day activities, FREE for the entire family.
Wednesdays, April 17 and April 2411:00-2:30pm
Visit the MAUI HANDS GALLERY AT 84 HANA HWY in PAIA to check out mixed medium artist, CECILIA BAHENA.
“Wood forms and panels are the stage for her expressive collage techniques which incorporate hand painted paper, images and text. Her wood forms challenge the viewer to identify sources of materials used yet offer the viewer quotes that hint at the meaning of each piece. Cecilia’s intuitive collage on canvas offers a more complex scenario by using color, texture, form and composition to tell a story usually about human emotions and situations. Levels of complex meanings reveal themselves through the titles of each work while common found objects create uncommon beauty. ”
