Surrounded by thousands at the Gorge and Jack Johnson up on stage… Vanessa turned to Devon and asked her to marry her. The people faded in the distance and the most amazing moment in time stood still.
Now these girls are anything but ordinary… They are driven. They are incredibly smart. They are funny, and not in that self-degrading way. You walk away from these two feeling happy and energized.
Their clothing and personalities bubbled through brilliantly!

2014
On a virtual path of life twelve years ago, two beautiful souls crossed, touched, and united… Separated by the physical miles between Virginia and Seattle, Washington, the internet provided them with the tools they needed to bridge the gap. They discovered that they had a lot in common and enough different to really complement each other. Marriage wasn’t an option then, but they knew they needed to travel the path of life together.
2014
Vanessa, her Dad and Devon arrived on Maui for their special ceremony last month. We had the pleasure of enjoying lunch with them the day before their ceremony. Meeting our clients before their special day is what changes clients into ohana and creates that meaningful lifelong bond that we treasure with our jobs.
From the first time we spoke on the phone we knew we were going to like each other. They were positive, upbeat and beyond excited about their Maui wedding from Day One. They selected bright clothing to contrast the khaki of the sand and the blue of the water. The picked styles that reflected their personalities instead of the more traditional Hawaii beach wedding clothing.
Their ceremony was customized to include special details they had provided during the consultation phase of their Hawaii wedding planning. Each note that they felt important enough to bring up was somehow reflected within their ceremony. (Yes, there’s even a story to the shot glass in the picture). Their ceremony was lively, respectful, passionate and playful – it was everything a monumental moment of their lives should be. That moment when the bond is deepened and best friends pledge their continued support for the remainder of life’s path together.
Together they shared in the beauty that is Maui and the peacefulness that marriage brings over two people. They explored the Road to Hana, and played on the best beaches on Maui. They danced, they laughed, they strengthened their 12 year bond. They experienced all the aloha of this magical island and they’re counting the days to come back and visit.
