  • Maui is a renowned beach destination with crystal-clear waters and sun-kissed shores – great for sunbathing and picnicking
  • Snorkeling is a must-do activity, with the island offering access to vibrant coral gardens and diverse marine life, such as turtles and octopus.
  • Beyond snorkeling, Maui’s beaches offer a wealth of activities and excursions, from scenic coastal drives along the Hana Highway to traditional Hawaiian luaus and dinner cruises. We recommend the luau at the Grand Wailea, Te Au Moana at the Wailea Beach Club Marriott or the Old Lahaina Luau.

The volcanic Molokini Crater is a highlight for snorkel tours on maui. It’s underwater with over 100 marine species. Dive in and see the clear water filled with colorful fish. You may even catch a manta ray gliding past. Most visitors call this an island, but it’s actually the lungs for the volcano sitting in the middle of Maui. Check out our favorite  snorkel boat company – Seafire Charters!

Turtle Town is a great snorkeling spot. It features underwater lava formations. These are home to Hawaiian green sea turtles and where the turtle cleaning stations are located. Imagine a car wash for turtles – they swim up and the little fish get to work removing the vegetation that grows on their shells. While snorkeling turtle town, you can swim with these amazing turtles but please remember to watch from a distance as we don’t want our turtles to get hurt or become fearful of us. It’s a truly inspiring experience that you won’t forget. Ask us about the best spots to swim with sea turtles.

Upcoming AWT Maui Makani Classic 2012

One of the things I love most about living in Maui is the sport competitions. Windsurfing races, surf competitions, paddling,  kite boarding… it’s all here on Maui.

One of the harder things about Maui is finding out ahead of time about these events. There are so many things to do in Maui that it’s impossible to find one place with a list of all these events.

I’ve found a few sites that probably pick up about 90% collectively but it would be a full time job to monitor for everything. With that said, I’d like my readers to at least see a few of the cool things to do on Maui without the fuss.

OCTOBER 25 – NOVEMBER 3, 2012

That brings me to the upcoming AWT Makani Classic 2012. This is going to be an awesome event! Riders from all over coming together for this great Paia event! There’s categories for everyone – Pro, Amateur, Women, Youth, Masters and even Grand Masters! If you’re on island, you’ve got to check this out…
