Welcome to 2013! As is expected of Maui, there are plenty of events going on. Here’s the highlights for the week:

If you’re looking for a reason to get outside and get some fresh air – how about a Charity Golf Tournament? Kapalua’s Plantation Course has a charity golf tournament on January 3. Contact danielchelel@pgatourhq.com for more information!

Not wanting to exert much energy? Country Singer, Steve Zuwala will be playing at the MACC on January 4th performing a Country Rock Special benefiting the Maui Food Bank. You can get your tickets online at http://www.mauiarts.org/events/steve-zuwala/  but seating is limited.

If you’d like to get outdoors with the family, the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale Marine Sanctuary is hosting a Ko`ie`ie Fishpond 5K Fun Run & Kids Mile event on January 5th beginning at their center in Kihei, South Maui. Call for more information: 808-280-5801.

Also on January 5th, Haunani Apoliona, Ku‘uipo Kumukahi & Helene Woodward will be performing at the McCoy Studio Theater ini Kahalui at 7:30 pm. Come listen to the amazing 12-string guitar and relax for an evening of Hawaiian fun! More information can be found here.
